In-person courses for managers

Suitable for hair, beauty, spa & barbershop managers, assistant managers, potential franchisees, team leaders and heads of department.

  • A day course where Nergish highlights the connection between great customer service and increased spend by a customer.

  • She focuses on the link between a customer’s reasons for booking time with an expert and delivering results for the customer via a professional consultation.

  • Nergish ensures every attendee understands the purpose of reviewing employee performance and how they must achieve improved results.

  • A performance review should achieve two things; an improvement in the employee’s earnings (where commissioned), and attainment of business targets.
  • Once the theory is covered, Nergish teaches a simple, easily implementable performance review routine. The second half of the day is spent conducting performance reviews, with plenty of difficult situations and characters to handle.

Team Rah Rah Day (1 day)
  • This is a one day course, delivered on-site for the whole team, and is made bespoke to that particular business’ needs.

  • Nergish talks about the necessity of raising customer service standards whilst she clarifies the role of each team member plays in delivering them.

  • During the morning session, Nergish teaches staff how to earn the most from their chair/beauty room/nail section.
  • The afternoon is spent on practical demonstration and role-plays of language learnt.

  • Nergish is often approached by spa & salon owners to solve certain issues that arise in their business.
  • For example:
    • It could be that a business has just opened, and standards of performance and customer service need to be set.
    • Other times it’s a question of someone acquiring a business and wanting the existing team to up their game.
    • Anything from showing the team how to earn more or adjusting their attitudes towards their jobs. They vary greatly in instruction.
    • Nergish is regularly asked to speak at group’s annual conference, to celebrate results and or to outline their next year’s plans.
  • Sometimes customers want Nergish to teach certain specific aspects of two of her pre-written courses or sometimes she has to write specific material for the very exacting needs of a business. Easily done!
  • It simply involves an in-depth consultation (free of charge) over the phone, to get the course written.

Other On-Site Services Provided by Nergish

Salon Management Team Walkabout with NWA (1 day)
  • On this day, Nergish walks about the business with the management team, discovering the areas of their customer service delivery which prohibit/limit upselling, cross-sales, re-bookings and customer recommendations etc.
  • Up to four members of the management team can attend. One management team member is assigned as the scribe for the day, taking detailed notes.
  • This is a fast-paced day and requires the management team’s full attention throughout the day.
Salon Mystery Investigation to Identify Missed Sales Opportunities (1 day)
  • On this day, an industry expert will conduct a mystery shopping exercise and identify all the times a sales opportunity has been missed from a customer’s point of view.
  • This exercise is conducted once a conversation has happened with the salon manager and Nergish is in receipt of the last six weeks of key performance indicators of the business.
  • Once the mystery investigation has been conducted, a video call (up to 1 hour, on Skype, WhatsApp or FaceTime) with Nergish to discuss the investigation findings and their recommended solutions will take place.
A cost cutting day with Nergish (1 day)
  • On this day, Nergish spends the day with the Manager, Owner & Bookkeeper/Accountant of the business identifying all the ways in which any unnecessary expenditure can be curtailed and how increasing revenues through higher productivity can reduce costs dramatically in those areas.
A day spent reviewing performance with Nergish (1 day)
  • On this day, Nergish spends time with the manager reviewing key individuals’ performance.
  • The objective of this day is a fresh, un-biased look at each staff member’s efficiency and productivity. Nergish will accompany the manager, conduct some of the reviews, observe others, and give feedback on how they can be made more effective.

  • This day is most effective where businesses have a high staff turnover.
  • Managers who find it hard to further inspire their already busy staff or motivate their under performers would benefit greatly from this day of learning and practicing with Nergish.
